Holiday Ngöndro Retreat

Rigden (Shambhala), Kagyü, and Nyingma ngöndro practitioners are all warmly invited to join us for this special holiday practice intensive.

Whether you are seeking to establish your ngöndro practice or are an experienced practitioner, join us for this special holiday program. By practicing in a group context while also fostering camaraderie and celebration, we will increase both our personal and the group's windhorse, thus giving power and potency to the vision of Shambhala. All ngöndro practitioners are warmly invited to this practice intensive. This retreat fullfills the group practice requirement for Rigden Ngöndro practitioners.

The schedule and container for this program will be supported by the winter dathun which is taking place concurrent with this retreat. We will be joining the dathun for opening, protectors and closing chants. Ngöndro practice will take place in our own shrine room during the two main practice periods (approximately 9am to noon, and 3 to 6pm). Meals will be taken with the dathun in oryoki fashion. After dinner is open either for individual study or for shamatha practice with the dathun. Acharya Judith Simmer-Brown will address the ngöndro practitioners during the program to discuss our practice.

If you are unable to join us for the entire program you are welcome to attend either of the two weeks.

Prerequisite: Shambhala Vajrayana Seminary

Our intent is to encourage and support intensive practice opportunities for Shambhala community members. Therefore we are making this program available to all qualified ngöndro practitioners by offering it at the special rate of $40 per night. Your accommodations will be the best we have available. Priority for best-available housing will be on a first-come first-served basis. We will not be able to confirm which housing you will be assigned until one week prior to the program start date.
